Emotions hit Gary Payton II hard after hearing how proud his Hall of
Fame father was for the first time at his charity event. The Golden State
#Warriors guard advocates for #dyslexia awareness and raised $80K-plus.

小Payton(有閱讀障礙)在他的慈善活動上，第一次聽到他的籃球名人堂父親為他感到多麼
自豪，這讓他深受感動。小Payton倡導理解讀寫障礙，並籌集了超過80,000美元的善款。

Payton II stood against a wall listening intently, holding a glass of wine in
his left hand and wiping away tears with his right forearm. He said later
that his father’s words brought up confusion and pain from his childhood.
Gary Payton Sr. gave his son the same renowned Oakland, California, tough
love that he received from his father, Al “Mr. Mean” Payton. His father’s
tough love, Payton Sr. said, pushed him to become an NBA star.

小Payton站在一面牆邊，專心聽著，左手拿著一杯葡萄酒，右手用前臂擦去淚水。他後來
說，他父親的話喚起了他童年時的困惑和痛苦。小Payton父親的教育方式來自小Payton的
外公——著名的加州奧克蘭式嚴父教育。小Payton父親說，正是這種嚴厲的愛推動了他成
為NBA球星。
