Joel Embiid had two screws inserted into the navicular bone of his right foot

on Friday, and the surgery "went very well."

"The surgery went very well," said Embiid's agent Arn Tellem. "I’m confident

that after appropriate healing he will be able to return to NBA basketball."

Embiid's recovery period is expected to be 4-6 months, and it is possible

up sitting out the entire 2014-15 season.

surgery, and this recent development only complicates matters. Embiid, once

considered to go no later than the No. 3 pick, could fall all the way to

Boston at No. 6, and perhaps even farther.
